Cam Skattebo Lawsuit

See, in July of 2023, we saw something kinda unexpected happen at Arizona State University’s football practice. What exactly? Oh, well, there was an accident that involved two American football players, one was a walk-on offensive lineman who goes by the name Mattheos Katergaris, and then there is Cam Skattebo, who is already a famous name. So, what really happened? You see, back in 2023, one day at the practice ground, these two were present at the same place.

So, Mathheos was just sitting on the back seat of a golf cart, and then Cam hopped on too. Then? Well, as per this Cam Skattebo Lawsuit, Cam didn’t just hop onto the ride, he actually started jumping up and down when the cart was moving. And this is precisely what caused the back seat to break, and Mattheos fell off, which is why he ended up getting hurt badly. This is why Mattheos is suing Arizona State University and the Arizona Board, and now he has added Cam to it as well. So, let’s get to more details of this case.

Why Mattheos Katergaris Is Taking Cam to Court?

After he fell off, it wasn’t like he got some small injury or some pain, nah, it was a major thing for him because the accident caused a serious injury. You see, it ended with a torn triceps tendon for him. This way, the very reason why he couldn’t play football anymore, and even after so long, the injury still hurts.

So, sure enough, since this accident cost him his career, that is why he is now going the legal path to get justice since it wasn’t his fault. That’s why we saw in May 2024 that he went on with filing this lawsuit against Arizona State University and the Arizona Board of Regents. All he is saying is that it should have been their duty to make sure that the players stay safe on the practice grounds. And because Mattheos added Cam to this lawsuit as well, that is precisely why we’re referring to it as the Cam Skattebo Lawsuit.

To Cam, he is just asking him to at least pay $300,000 to cover his medical bills and other costs that occurred. All in all, in this very case, both the parties that are being sued are accused of being negligent, otherwise, this whole situation wouldn’t have occurred.

Cam Is Playing Hard to Find

Since this case has been going on for a while and Cam was included in this lawsuit later on, that’s why he is now busy training for the NFL Draft. And when Mattheos decided to sue Cam as well, but when all of this was taking place, Cam moved around a lot between Florida and Indianapolis, making it super hard for the lawyers to find him and hand him the court papers, which is currently the main concern in this case. But not to worry about it anymore because the judge allowed the lawsuit papers to be published in a local newspaper in Maricopa County. A similar procedural twist happened in the Blake Lively Dismiss Lawsuit, where the actress sought to have defamation claims thrown out before trial based on state law protections.

And right now, this case is still on, and as per the details, a pretrial conference is scheduled for February 11, 2026. So, let’s wait for that and see where this case goes.
